You can’t afford to ignore Twitter Cards as a marketing tool.
Twitter Cards were introduced in June 2012 to take your Tweets beyond the basic 140 character format. They allow individuals and corporate users alike to present their media in a more engaging way by adding visual interest through images and videos etc.
Twitter Cards are free; all you have to do to get started is add a few lines of code to your website.

Summary Cards
The default card. They are designed to give a preview of the content before clicking through to your website. You can add a title, description and thumbnail image. Provide basic information about a web page. The image encourages a user to click through.
Summary Card with Large Image
Similar to Summary Cards, but they allow you to add a full-width image to your Tweet.
Photo Card
The Photo Card puts the image front and center in the Tweet. Clicking on the photo expands it to a richer, detailed view. All of the information to be seen at one time, rather than embedded.
Gallery Card
A version of the photo card. Instead of putting one picture on the Twitter Card, the user can put up to four images on the gallery card. Let’s the user know that there’s more than just a single image at the webpage, but rather a gallery of related images.
App Card
Allow you to add a name, description and icon, and also to highlight attributes such as the rating and the price. The app card can detect the device that is being used to view the card and can direct the user to the right place to download the app to their mobile device. A great way to represent mobile applications on Twitter and to drive installs.
Player Cards
Have a live video or audio player in the tweet so that it will play easily for the person viewing it. Enables you to deliver rich media such as video and audio.
Product Card
